Welcome to Hey Bernice!
My name is Bin (short for Belinda). I will also answer to Bernice, Binny, Bins or Binster. If you asked my two older brothers they would also add Magic Mountain, Vomit Chops and Big Bertha to the list. I’m sure you’ll understand why, and forgive me if I don’t answer to those names!
Compared to what I do here, my day job is much less interesting, so we won’t talk about that. If you are interested you can find out more about that here.
One of the above-mentioned names, Bernice, drives all the exploits documented here.
Bernice is my alter ego…. she is a mum of two little ladies. And wife to a wondering husband who makes her laugh every day.
When not at play with the girls, she tries her hand at blogging, plays around with interior styling, up-cycling anything and everything & experimenting with recipes whenever she can steal back a minute or two.
Bernice is creative, she’s been creative since her brothers started calling her vomit chops – I don’t think there is any direct link there.
Bernice uses this blog to share her exploits with you.
So, back to Bernice... over the years there has been a steady production line of creations derived from what many would call junk or rubbish … old furniture, seed pods, vintage wallpaper, 40 year-old books, old spindles or just a creative combination of items that many wouldn’t think to put together – including food. Bernice has been asked on many occasions to hold working bees, tutorials or provide recipes so others can produce their own creations – hence the birth of this ‘Hey Bernice!’ blog.
