My workshops provide a great excuse to bake some cakes… and brownies, and cheesecakes!

Most of you would be aware that I started a new business six months ago http://www.theinklingeffect.com.au which has been sapping a lot of my apparent spare time (’cause there’s so much of that floating around with two kids under 3!).
The only time I do get to cook creatively is when I am whipping up some supper to take to the evening workshops I host on Social Media, Content marketing and blogging.

My chief helper Heidi loves pancakes , and what’s not to love about them?

It’s become our Sunday morning ritual, only today we had them on Friday – because we can!

My wonderfully talented husband, who is brilliant in the kitchen has always placed slice banana in his pancakes. It is such a simple way to spice up a pancake with that sweet, caramelised banana flavour.

Winter Warmers, comfort food for a cold night: soups, chilli and crumble…

Think of this as a showcase of some of my favourite winter recipes.
Now the southern Hemisphere summer is officially over, I am pulling out the perfect winter recipes that comfort me when it is cold, raining and windy outside. Some of these you’ve seen before, but the highlight of this post is the Tunisian soup below.

Almond crackers – gluten and dairy free, the perfect detox food!

It’s detox time for me at the moment. I’m on my third week, 3kg down and starting to feel great. I’ve said I will continue doing it until we move into our new house (another 5-6 weeks!).

I did a massive detox about 5 years ago, guided by a wonderful naturopath at Glow. For four months I cut out caffeine, dairy, wheat, red meat, fruit (except grapefruit), potatoes, corn, mushrooms, anything processed… you get the idea (it was really restrictive!!!). Along with all that I was systematically cleansing each internal organ of my body… bowel, stomach, kidney, liver using herbal tablets and powders.

You’re wondering why would I put myself through such deprivation? Apart from needing to lose some weight and get healthier, I was suffering from headaches (almost daily), my hands were peeling, I had really bad hay-fever that had come on when I turned 30, and I felt really sluggish.
